From the Montaigne Tower to the caves of Maxange, from the Château of Montreal to the bastide of Monpazier, visit the Périgord of another era. To help you discover the wonders of our region, nine sites have joined together to offer you reduced admission. Just obtain a leaflet at the first site you visit and have it stamped for a discount at the eight other participating sites within ten days
The south-west corner of the Perigord is also famous for its Bastides, a string of "new" towns created in the 13th century, by both the English and the French, essentially to promote commerce. Later, fortified, they became very important in the Hundred Years War and changed hands many times. Monpazier is reknown as the finest local example.
